Having been actively involved with BMANA for nearly three decades, I remain deeply committed to strengthen its core values. As President, I pledge to build upon the strong foundation laid by my predecessors—supporting our members, guiding physicians at the start of their careers in the United States, fostering young leaders, championing gender balance, and empowering women in medicine. I will represent our members with a strong voice and work to strengthen BMANA’s role in advancing medicine alongside the broader physician community.
I am dedicated to promoting medical education, particularly for our young physicians. As the next generation pioneers innovations, we must embrace their dynamism and grow with them, for the future of medicine rests in their hands. While the healthcare field continues to face challenges in access, equity, and quality improvement, our focus must remain on delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care—both in the United States and in Bangladesh.
As physicians, we hold a vital role in society, impacting our patients and communities in implicit ways. Our members have demonstrated the profound impact of combining medical expertise with compassionate service. We must uphold the highest ethical standards, foster professionalism, and cultivate progressive ideas that move our profession forward.
We will continue to strengthen our ties with our motherland through knowledge sharing, medical missions, and service to underserved populations.
The strength of BMANA lies in our general membership, our regional Chapters, and our Alumni networks. By deepening connections across local associations and embracing our shared culture, we can enhance our relationship to build the unity that defines us.
I am eager to work with—and for—our members during my term as President of this esteemed organization. Together, we can build a legacy that will inspire and serve future generations.
Best regards
Ayesha Sikder MD FCCP
President, BMANA
